Managing Broker

The Prep Realty team is led by Managing Broker, Ishma Best. Ishma possesses a relentless passion for real estate and providing our clients with the highest level of service. His priority is to consistently build and retain strong professional relationships with our clients, who span all backgrounds and walks of life. He embodies integrity, responsiveness, and attention to detail for all of his real estate transactions, regardless of scale.

His clients include leaders in the technology and financial sectors, along with some of New York’s most successful young entrepreneurs. He has embraced the opportunity to bring that level of service and professionalism to the neighborhoods of Detroit.

Ishma is head over heels in love with Detroit and its beautiful history, housing inventory, and the strong pride of its people. He especially appreciates the resilience he sees in Detroiters and has decided to make Detroit his new home to support neighborhood revitalization through real estate sales and leasing.

Kishon Harbert

Director of Commercial Sales and Leasing

Kishon is more than your commercial realtor. Her personal approach to each transaction – “what would I do if this was my money…my property…my opportunity?” – and her commitment to your long term success and wealth makes her your partner.

As an indigenous Detroiter – born and bred in the “D” – she is aware of the trends, opportunities, and the location of your next investment. Kishon works with a variety of investors, from the first timers to more sophisticated. Regardless of the complexity, she’s committed to making it happen. With nearly $4 million in sales and leasing across nearly 30 transactions during her 6 years in the industry she has helped many of our metro Detroit community business owners realize their goals, better yet – power their dreams. Her combined skill set of human relations and commercial real estate provides the perfect platform to negotiate and execute complex acquisitions. 

In addition, Kishon is the Senior Commercial Leasing and Operations Specialist at Wayne State University and has in-depth knowledge around the structuring of complex, corporate lease deals. SHEA HICKS-WHITFIELD

Shea Hicks-Whitfield has always loved beautiful things, with architecture being her first love.  A lifelong Detroiter, Shea’s earliest memories are of her Grandfather driving her around the city, showing her the various beautiful homes and buildings that littered the streets of her hometown.

While working for a local homebuilder in 2004, Shea obtained her builder’s, real estate, and real estate appraisal licenses, providing her with the knowledge and skills she needed to be her very best for her customers, knowledge that she carries with her to this day. Shortly thereafter, Shea found her niche, and Homes Sold by Shea was born!.

As a proud Detroit resident and Realtor for 17 years, Shea is committed to the revival of her city, seeing her role as a Realtor as being an active participant in the city’s turn-around. “The strength of the city is in its residents and their ability to realize their dreams. What better way to change a city than to change the outcomes for its residents? Being a homeowner is a game changer in people’s lives.”

Shea is married, and enjoys traveling, summer concerts and attending local sporting events with her husband, Terry; spending time with her nieces and her puppy Sofia; and learning better ways to improve her craft as a Realtor in Detroit. CeCe Thomas

What I do @ PREP: I am the concierge buyer’s agent, also accountable for leasing, sales, and marketing.

Why I Love My City: I am the youngest of 6, a home grown Detroiter, born in Detroit and bred in the University District. My roots come from the blue collar people of the city; and I can never get enough BetterMade White Cheddar Popcorn.

I am Committed to Excellence: My experience in working with home buyers – from the initial introduction to the home buying process, all the way to the closing table – has trained me to do accurate expeditious and efficient work. I refuse to sacrifice quality for quantity. I am always looking out for the best interest and opportunities for my clients.

I am a Fierce Advocate: My clients are my priority. When conducting home searches, touring potential properties, or negotiating purchase price, I step into my clients’ shoes, and ensure their intentions are realized. Especially in the inspection of purchase agreements, ensuring nothing was put in that does NOT reflect the best interest of my buyer or seller.

I am Passionate about Entrepreneurship: My brain likes to cook up business ideas. In addition to helping PREP Realty expand in the Detroit markets, I am excited to share that another one of my ideas launched in late 2019!

My Alter ego: Edna Mode from Disney’s The Incredibles. She had her own kind of superpower, in the background, enabling and empowering others, gearing them up for greatness.

Robert Lockett

Residential Sales and Leasing +  Commercial Sales Agent

Robert Lockett is a Real Estate Professional, Strategic Business Advisor, and Community Advocate with more than 10 years of leadership experience in accelerating organizational growth across diverse business functions and industries. 

Robert started his Real Estate career in the Hospitality Industry where he was responsible for Guest Experience and Hotel Management for the 1,663 room Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA. He went on to found Hillbrooke Partners, an independent consulting firm delivering an array of advisory solutions to small and medium sized Real Estate organizations. 

Robert’s love for client service led him to receive his Michigan Real Estate license, where he helps individuals and investors buy and sell real estate across multiple product types. He was drawn to PREP Realty by its authentic and client first approach to all transactions. Robert prides himself on consistently providing excellent customer service for his clients, no matter the size of the deal and he’s excited to continue his work of making a positive impact in the Detroit community.   

“If one cannot serve, one is not fit for leadership”– a statement central to Robert’s personal mission of building better communities for all. Robert is a Charter-Member of the Rotary Club of Southfield, MI, Member of the National Black MBA Association Detroit Chapter, Board President of the SASHA Center, and is a graduate of the 2018 New Leaders Council Detroit Chapter Cohort.

Robert has a certificate in Asset Management from Cornell University, and an MBA from the Goizuetta School of Business at Emory University.
